Office for People With Developmental Disabilities
The New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is responsible for coordinating services for New Yorkers with developmental disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, Prader-Willi syndrome and other neurological impairments.
Medicaid
The Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) is organized into seven groups that are responsible for the various components of policy development and operations for Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the Basic Health Program (BHP).

Community Habilitation

Community Habilitation is a Medicaid-funded program operated under OPWDD to provide one-to-one training to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities to develop or enhance the skills needed to live more independently in their homes or in the community.
CDPAP (Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program)

This Medicaid program provides services to chronically ill or physically disabled individuals who have a medical need for help with activities of daily living (ADLs) or skilled nursing services.
Certified Home Health Care Agencies

Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs) provide part-time, intermittent health care and support services to individuals who need intermediate and skilled health care.
